Elysium: Chemrail

So I decided to give this whole 3d modelling and printing thing a go. For some reason I decided to go with the Chemrail for Elysium first. I'm very happy with how it's turning out so far. I estimate I'm roughly 80% done with it at the moment. There are still lots of little details that need to be added. I'm hoping I can get away with breaking and printing this into 3-pieces, but it will most likely end up being 4. I will be updating this thread as often as I can.

And one of my favorite weapons as well!

Where are you getting your references? There were a lot of photos from the prop auctions, and approximate dimensions as well, IIRC.

Thanks Noeland. I'm using a free cloud based cad program called Onshape. It has it's limitations, but for being completely free and not having to download any software I love it.
Mike J., most of my reference images has come from the auction pictures that are out there. I also have the Elysium reference book that has a few good pics of the Chemrail in it. Yeah, they did have all of the dimensions listed on the auction sites as well, which was pretty damn handy.

I'll have to give Onshape a try. Thanks for letting me know about it.

I have Fuse CC from adobe, but I haven't tried it yet though. I've just been using photoshop and it's not great for 3d stuff, or I should say I'm not great with it. Just starting out in 3D modelling.

Wow, it's been over a year? I'm finally getting around to printing this bad boy. I didn't want to pay $500 to get this printed so I took the plunge and bought me a 3d printer. I have 2 of 7 files printed at this point. I'm going to start the priming and sanding process once all of the pieces are finished and assembled.

Wow, I don't see anything wrong with it from where I'm standing...you could also send it to me if you don't like it:p(y)
Eager to see your next print; it's going to be awesome!!
