YOUR MAJESTY - or - A DREAM BECOMES TRUE

Today was a very special day for me. For years I had the desire, one day to own a life-size Queen. Due to the rarity and the absurd prices, I assumed that this would actually remain forever a dream and wish. In so many threads here I have written again and again ... "one day I will have a lifesize queen" ..... this has always been my greatest wish and also personally the Holy Grail for me as an alien collector. .... and finally .... I HAVE A QUEEN! ... Yes, it is true!

Some may still remember ... a few months ago, a Queen in a very poor condition was offered for auction on a Dutch marketplace. It is a very rare Distortions Unlimited Queen of which only a few pieces have ever been produced. The US Company Distortions Unlimited (DU) acquired the Alien license and the forms/molds of the Alien Queen in the 1990s. These were then sold directly through DU in the US and Morris Costumes in the UK.

Well, the queen offered on the marketplace was auctioned off, as I mentioned, and I assumed that I would never be able to buy them and win an auction. So I did not care anymore. After a few months, as part of my research into the history of the lifesize Queens figures, I came across this auction again. Out of interest, I asked the seller if I could receive information on who bought it and where it was sold. The seller then tells me ... "You can have the queen". That was my opportunity! And now the Queen is in my possession. Yippiiiiiiiii.

According to my information, it is the only one DU lifesize queen in Europe. All other known Queens are in Japan and the USA. Unfortunately …. Is this Queen in a very bad general condition and not complete. So I miss the arms and 3 back spikes. However, the most important parts like head, body and legs are present. So here's the question for everyone: Can anyone help with arm procurement?

The whole project is very elaborate and costly ... but I must not forget ... I have here an object that is my personal holy grail and of which very few exist worldwide at all.

sorry no prices. Also note the condition and the missing parts. The transport costs again on top. I have to pay these too.
But for that I have a holy grail. There are so few in the world that I forget all this. Now I have to find out how to best prepare and restore it. It is not easy because of the wrong storage significant damage and deforming occurred. I will report regularly. I also have an AlienCollectors channel and a site specially started for this project in facebook. Just look for it. I do not publish links because of competition ... otherwise there is trouble :)

Congratulations Catzenjaeger.

Actually it doesn't look that bad at all. The camera seems to have resized the pics if you look at the soft drink can in your photo's, but the crown, body, and fins seem to be intact. Biggest problem I have seen with these are massive rips in the rubber skin or in areas of activity. Like where the fins or little arms are inserted in the main body - the internal foam has been destroyed or is completely gone. Also anything protruding from the body can suffer damage from 20 years of occasional contact with people like fingers, tail, feet. That guy Morbid did some restoration on his Distortions queen. He might have some tips. He even has a you tube video called "morbid reports" documenting the restore. The one in my possession was basically undamaged so no restoration was necessary. I hired a skilled welder to assess the structure and to do his best to make it fit in any normal sized house. It's not even painted. My queen project continues, but no molds exist and wont anytime soon as I have completed the bulk of what I wanted to do in the short term, which was to get the massive thing finally built and to verify I had what I thought I had. Hard to tell when it's a pile of dusty parts in the corner of a storage unit. Long term I want to duplicate it so I can experiment with internal structure - but I won't be selling any parts. Another person you can seek parts from is Bruce Hansing himself. I don't know if he offers parts, but he has made full sized queens in the past which includes all the parts you seek, and he is experienced at shipping these internationally.

Yes, I know, the quality is very bad. However, I did not pay much. The most expensive was the transport (car and trailer rent + 2 times Frankfurt-Rotterdam and back). For a piece of history and there is no second DU queen on European soil. You can not compare the quality with a Weired & Wonderful queen or the real Queen. Luckily, my foam is not crumbled. Even the latex layers are not rotten or moldy. Everything looks good. Everything is firm and elastic. The massive damage happened only through storage and transport. The queen was stored without protection on the pure soil of a cellar over the years. For photos she was placed on a tarred road and massively damaged. But that's ok. I knew that before I bought it. There are cracks ... but you can fix that. Mörbid Flo (Florian) lives fortunately in Germany. I already talked to him on the phone. He is the specialist at all for such things in Europe. I'm also in touch with Bob Farmer. He also owns a life-size queen. I am also in contact with bruce hansing ..

I want to restore my queen. So I will not cut off the head and replace it with a new copy. I do not like that. even if the qulity is much worse ... i want to get this part of the story.

however, you need help finding the missing arms. Someone will have it in their possession. Surely someone has these hanging on a wall in the living room or men's cave. The arms are the only thing you can present in a normal apartment without a big problem.

So who can help me in finding the poor or in repouction or someone knows the help aknn ... I am happy about any feedback.
Yesterday I built wooden scaffolding so I can store the queen to save space.
The next few days I will clean it first.

Small update: now I have all 4 arms. These were made exclusively for this restoration in the USA. The planning, the production and the transport to me took over a year.
