Pod from 'Contact"

Hey everyone,

I am going to try to 3D print the pod from the Robert Zemekis film "Contact". Has anyone tried that before? Does anyone have blueprints or specifications for the pod?

I just finished my 3D print of the pod from the movie Contact.

It is a hollow sphere with a suspended chair, surrounded by a dodecahedron lattice with shock absorbers.

The door attaches with magnets.

It is as accurate as I could make it...as I could not find much in the way of reference materials.

Scale...hmm...good question.

I am not sure how big the actual pod was or supposed to be.

But based on the chair measurements...scale is approximately 1:32.

I just made it as big as I could on my tiny 3D printer!
