Currently planning an Alien xenomorph costume and intend to sculpt the head from foam. Any suggestions on best type and supplier? UK suppliers preferred

Rigid or soft foam?
If your carving rigid foam, most DIY stores should be able to supply you with sheets of insulation foam.
MB Fibreglass for casting foam. They're based in Belfast but their shipping to the UK is quick.

I don't know of any EVA foam Alien heads but I expect someone has made one.

ridged Urethane 4-6 lb density. Start with a google search of insulation suppliers. It is cast in 3'x3'x4' buns that are sawed into smaller pieces. If you cant get that where you are, pink insulation (Polystyrene) foam will work, but it is not as ridged as polyurethane, and it dissolves with any solvent.

If you are looking for UK supplier of closed cell foam, we supply polyethylene foam sheets suited to prop-making, cosplay, crafts, etc. in a range of densities: 30, 45, 60 and 100kg/m³. These foams are rigid and lightweight, come as a 2m x 1m sheet and are available in various thicknesses.

To keep it simple, we have named these foams: PE30, PE45, PE60, and PE100 on our online store: www.foamrite.co.uk.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions!
