Great job, Yaris. This makes me really regret not grabbing a Hero while they were dirt cheap.
Not trying to hijack your thread, but what "base" color did you use - if you don't mind sharing?
I'm starting a Bandai X wing build and not sure what best primer/base color to start with.

Thx, Taking photos on grass makes it easy to photoshop out the pole mount.Nice repaint and terrific looking build . I really do appreciate your photo - work mate . That #3 pic ( top row ) in post #20 looks like you’re just managing to hold her from flying off !

Thx, All questions are welcome. There's a lot of opinion about the original filming model colour, but I use straight white and a black wash. Some folks mix a grey for the base, but I find a nice clean white and the black wash gives a grey look anyway, not too dark just right. I paid $90 (Australia) for mine, but they did come done to $35, now they're up to $150 on ebay!!

Yea I agree, they are definitely there. I would say they are more of an orangy/yellow. The reason it's not apparent in that photo is because of the glare. Nothing yellow shows up in the movie either because the blue tones are the spectral opposite of yellow and cancel each other out. You can see it pretty good here.

I don't believe the canopy color is that dark color either. It looks to be the same color as the candy cane stripes around the guns and at the edge of the engine cans. Same canopy color as most of the other X-Wings IMO. Light bluish grey.
Here is the bottom. I don't see anything to indicate there is yellow on either can on the bottom.

Yea, that is sadly what Red 5 looks like now. For some reason it was changed to Red 4 then gutted. I think those photos were taken in 2009 or so.

That's really interesting. Kind of like how the 'Red' Squadron was originally 'Blue' Squadron, but using blue screen meant it didn't work, so they changed it to Red.
