Star Wars AT-AT or AT-ST Costume build

Hello all,

This is my first time posting on the RPF although I have been a long time lurker after first hearing about it on Tested and I figured this would be the place to come for some help on a project i'm beginning. I am drawing up plans for an AT-AT costume or AT-ST costume (I have not decided yet) but I would only be one person even if I do the AT-AT (I have some planes for distributing weight and making the rear legs work.) Anyway, I was wondering what the best materials to make either of these with would be.
