[COMPLETE] Warframe-Valkyr

[EDIT]
This thread (originally about my operator cosplay from Warframe) has changed (a bit). I recently got selected to be a finalist in a cosplay contest in France, and it changed my plans. All the finalists are asked to create something new (and high-level) for the occasion. I am no longer working on my operator, but on Valkyr, because she is better suited for the kind of stage performance they ask for. This contest is really important to me, and I'll try to do my best. This is also a long-term project (compared to what I usually do, I mean): I have 9 months.

So, here we go again:

I started by making a few 3D models for Javlok's (the gunlance my character is holding) barrels and spikes, and some of Valkyr's...things on her feet and hands. The scale is totally wrong, I inserted my components in a single file just for this screenshot and didn't adjust the dimensions...

I also made progress on the chest, all made out of 5mm EVA foam. The seams are intentional, they appear on the IG model. I made a pattern on myself with tape so the pieces would fit me perfectly. For the moment, the different parts are attached together with tape (and missing a fair amount of details). They will be articulated so I can move easily.

Ok, I totally forgot to update this thread.

I made a syandana (it's an ornament -originally scarves- you can wear on your back).

I do not know what this kind of fabric is called, it is rather heavy. The gold decorations are fabric paint.

The rest was carved from EVA sheets (10mm, glued together to be thicker). I painted these pieces with acrylics.

The full syandana looks like this, so far it doesn't have attachments.

The chest and back are almost done.

Here is the back, missing LEDs and some details. The base is 5mm EVA, and i used 2mm and 10mm as well for the details.

The "plates" are articulated and the spine is flexible.

Here is the front (I still have to heat-form the chest to get a smoother curve).

I then decided to add a sigil on it (glowing symbols you cann wear in game).

I cut out the shape of the sigil from the foam, glued seome heatformed plastic behind it, and added green LED strips. The weird light effect comes from crumpled aluminum foil, placed behind the LEDs.

I love this build! Been following the progress on instagram. There really is a shortage of Warframe props and cosplays.
Welcome back then ! One of my very first costumes (in 2015/2016) was actually from Warframe. It was a disaster, but the WIPs still ended up in Prime Time and in various Warframe groups because of how rare it was to see somebnody build a costume from the game.

Anyway, here is progress on the helmet/head. I am filming the entire construction of this part in order to release a making of video with a full commentary.

The rough shape looks like this.

And I started adding some of the details.

I also worked a bit on the undersuit (I used some kind of...pleather I think). That thing is basically a bunch of fabric bands sewn together... It still needs adjustments, a zipper, and some arms of course...

Thats fantastic. Your Gold Finish. What do you use, paint wise?

Thank you ! Just regular acrylics, the gold is Pébéo Studio (Iridescent rich gold) and the brown is Liqutex Basic (Burnt Umber)

Here is the updated version of the thigh armor (missing some details). I am terribly sorry about the lack of progress, I do not have time for personal projetcs these days.

Fantastic work! So you're doing the gunlance, as well? Not counting that (by my calculations, at least), all that's left is painting those forearm pieces and some connective structures!
