Hey, RPF Nation!

So, I'm currently working on a Jaune Arc Cosplay and unlike the cheap knock-offs that EZCosplay sells, I'll be making this from Foam Tiles.

So whenever I get the chance, I'll upload my progress and if anyone has some advice for me, throw it into the thread!

Okay, so last night I had no clue on how to do this from scratch so a took one of my old workout t-shirts and I traced the T-shirt outline on a 22" X 29" project design paper and I did a rough draft of the design seen in the Concept Art. (p.s. Don't hate me, but this is my first time sketching anything)

The First time that I did this was 2 days ago and I was pumped up from Monster energy. So, I went back and did some small edits before I do a 2nd draft.

Edit: Now that I finished the edits, I'm gonna work on a 2nd Draft! Since I do not have a Light-up drawing board, I used my glass table and put a lamp on it to make a projection style drawing pad. So, I put another Project paper on my first templates and trace out the revised designs.

So, Now that that's done, I'm gonna go add some alignment marks, cut it out and trace it on foam. Next update will be soon! (Maybe I'll make a digital template for everyone to use)

So, as you can see I went back to the drawing board and traced the original template on new paper and added the sides to the front-bottom so it matched Jaune's design more accurately. I also added and the Alignment marks and labels on the paper template to make it easier to re-assemble, so now I'll cut the patterns out in foam.

Ok, so after yesterday at work I was too tired to cut the foam and assemble it today, so I did it a few minutes ago and this is how it turned out.

Okay, so the whole alignment thing didn't go exactly as planned, but the template I made turned out good, I haven't tried it on yet, so I don't know how it will fit. For who want to know what foam I'm using, I am using the 2' x 2'x 0.5" foam mats from Harbor Freight. It usually comes with 4 mats and I only paid 8.99 for it. It's okay but if you are using your cosplay in a cosplay contest, I would recommend getting higher grade mats, maybe at a fitness store.

I had a small idea to make two shoulder parts because the front and back was not aligned with each other good so, yeah. Pretty much I laid both templates down with both top parts facing each other and I arched the connections to make it more connected.
EDIT:

Well, it felt weird and very loose so, I will be REMOVING the shoulders I added in last minute. I may also cut out 2" from each side to make it more a tighter fit. so I'll be doing another update soon.

Hey there, super cool that you're doing Jaune Vol 4 armour. I've been working on my own Jaune Arc Vol 4 :) I was hoping to have it ready for RTX Sydney but that's not too likely.

Unfortunately almost all of your attached photos don't load. How is your project going?
