There has been several requests for the custom TTI Glock 34 used in the movie John Wick 2. I have set up an interest thread in the project runs section. Sign up if you are interested.

Can you go into a little more detail on how you utilize the graphite powder? I'm trying to reproduce the same look but for armor.

Spray down a flat black base coat, I use a black automotive primer. Let it fully dry and then dip a soft cloth into the graphite powder. Then gently buff the surface until it comes out to a shine. The more you buff the shinier it gets. Then seal it with a matte clear coat.

Awesome, that makes sense. Yours look incredible!

I had a last minute rush commission come through, and they were in need of a few Smith & Wesson Model 36 replicas and a larger frame 38 revolver. Thankfully I had a friend who had the Model 36 and the Ruger Security Six that I could borrow. These particular guns were used by a police officer in NYC during the 70s and 80s which was perfect, because these were needed for a TV show set in NYC during the 70s and 80s. Here are both of the real guns.

The Model 36 was up first since it was smaller. I made molds for the individual parts, to maintain the highest accuracy.

I also made a mold of some 38 Special bullets.

Here is the first casting. I tinted the resin on the grips to simulate a wood grain texture.

And after I drill a hole into the frame, the crane and cylinder slide into place and can move just like the real revolver. And the bullets fit in place as well.

I am really pleased with the way this turned out.

You should be. that looks amazing! any chance you have a charter arms 44 bulldog laying around? (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

the quality of your casting is really impressive, each time I'm amazed. I really hope you tackle a less "realistic" weapon in the future, I promised myself that I would just collect futuristic or fantastic weapons and no real looking gun. :$

Thanks guys.

Do a flat black base coat, and then buff the surface with graphite powder. Then seal with a clear coat.

That looks amazing! I have used a similar technique on my Carnwennan builds but I was always nervous to seal as I thought it my take the shine away. But looks like I'm going back and sealing a few!

It does slightly take away the shine. I almost overdid the graphite powder on this one, and it looked too silvery, but after the clear it toned it down and made it loo right.

These are amazing! Great job. Do you have any tips for molding guns? at some point I want to mold a pistol I own.
Clean it 4 times, and hope for the best that the silicone won't react bad to it. lol
As with any mold, plan out where you want the seam line to be and do the clay work carefully.
