For lots of people like myself, who went to Comicon for more than 30 years in a row, I think the convention has been utterly ruined by being a media con and catering to Hollywood. I will never step foot back in that convention until it gets out of San Diego, which is far, far too small for the number of people at the convention.
I work with several people, long-time San Diego attendees, who have expressed those exact sentiments. Some still go every year, some have stopped going. What they say about San Diego doesn't make me want to go.
In fact last year's LA Anime expo seemed on the verge of getting too big for its britches. Too hard to park, too hard to get in, too crowded once you get in.
