Hi All,

This dio was a commission piece for a mate in the States.

Recipe

Figure/Speeder - these are from the Hasbro BS 6" line and the Scout's joints were glued in place then puttied and then the figure and speeder were both painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.

Base - is a cheap picture frame then I used high density foam to build up the ground work, once the foam was secured to the base I covered with watered down spakfilla and attached the trees and let dry for 5 hours. When the spakfilla was dry I then covered the ground with a mix of dirt, sand, ground up leaves and lichen moss, thins sticks and static grass.

Once the mix was done I gave it a heavy wash of Vallejo Chocolate brown, I then used plastic plants from JOEFIX Studio's, the ferns I picked up from the local craft shop and were cut down to size. The swamp area was done using Woodland Scenics Realistic Water, the algae was done buy using pieces of Woodland Scenics Fine leaf foliage and placing it on the Realistic water and letting it soak it up and it sinks a little.

Ron

Just about perfect!

Base is very natural looking rather than a bunch of foliage just stuck on, speeder bike is weathered just right, and the mud on the boots is a great touch

Love the dio, the paint job and the way you do your plants, shrubs and tree is really natural looking!
