I litterally cried pretty much all the way to work this morning when I heard the news!
His death really did touch me as I listened to the Hip since I was about 22 years old. I’m 41 now and most of the happy memories I have gravitates around the times where I was listening to them.
Weirdly, for a couple months now, I had restarted listening to them on a weekly basis, with the girlfriend who barely knew who they were but also in the morning with my 16 months old baby girl which shakes and dances in her own happy way on their melodies.
I consider myself blessed to have seen them in shows 3 times in the last 15 years. I would definitely have had regrets not having done it now that he’s gone!
Thanks to everything you made us dream of and the incredible musical legacy you leave behind. You’ll be truly missed!
