Bending pex for frames?

First time caller, long time listener. I've got several foam projects underway which need some support structure. I found several Space Marine builds here that used Pex tubing to make frames, which looks great, but how in the $#^&% to you get an even bend in a small radius? Anything less than ~2 feet diameter is really distorted, and I'd like a couple circles as small as 1 ft diameter. I tried heat and it didn't really help - enough heat to set the bend distorted the circle. Any suggestion on how to get a decent bend or what I can use to make a decent frame?
