Disney Park's FX Lightsabers with removable blades.

Just got back from Disneyland today.
World of Disney had Vaders stocked up and Star Traders and Launch Bay both had plenty of Vaders and Rey's sabers.
As I was purchasing a few Vaders and inquiring if there was info on when Kylo sabers would be back in stock, a suited employee asked what I was looking for.
He got on his phone and after a few minutes, informed me they should be steadily back in stock by the end of the month.
Hopefully that wasn't just a blow-off response.

Crap. I'm not going to the parks until October, but I was possibly going to take a quick trip to Florida in April. I was just going to hit Disney Springs while I was there so I could grab a Kylo.

It's possible it's moved to inside the parks. I remember when I was trying to get the TK comlinks, they initially were selling them in the external stores, like Galactic Traders at downtown disney, but they stopped selling them there and were only available inside launch bay.
 
Am I the only one who is a little dismayed to see the condition this thing is in after 37 years? If it was the original film prop for Empire, how did it get into such awful condition? I mean, does the ILM archive/ prop warehouse have zero climate control? Does no one take care of the props? Crikey. LOL I want to like the idea of the R1 saber, but replicating rust the way they have just doesn't work. I like the original Vader ESB saber, and really wish there had been a Black Series removable blade version. I wonder how hard it would be to meld the ANH Hasbro version with the older black series?

Actually the hero was found in that state in a grungy casino SW display. The current owner had to trade a screen-worn Bond tux and an undisclosed but assumed impressive amount of money for it. Pretty cool barn find story.
 
You know, I think I heard that story but didn't realize that it was THIS saber. My next question is, then, how did it end up in the production of Rouge One?

I went to WDW in October, I bought the Rey lightsaber from the Launch Bay. I was told while i was there it was the only place the Disney Parks rey lightsaber could be bought. They were the only ones who stocked it. I did try every shop possible and at the time they was correct. They did sell the black series light sabers in a lot of different shops though.
 
So i bit thw bullets and went for it and had one imported. Got to say the hilt detail is spot on is truly beautiful and surprisingly heavy. The down side is i find the response to the blade being hit not so impressive

so i'm looking for a Kylo Ren Disney Parks saber.. and i posted about it on Reddit.. let me share my post real quick so i don't have to type it all out again.

"Anyone been to any Disney parks recently and found them? Im about 2 hours from Orlando so that's the store I'm checking when I use the app. My cousin lives in Orlando and I'm waiting for confirmation before I send her there and they aren't even selling them.
they retail for about $170 i think."

So i got some replies, and finally this person found them, but they were in the Magic Kingdom "Merchant of Venus"

At the top it only looks like the Black Series one, but i asked them to confirm the pricing and heres what they said:

"Bottom one in the pic is the removable blade is $179. Top one is $229"

I assumed the Disney Parks version would sell for more than the Black Series.. so I'm kind of confused by this. anyone got any kind of explanation?

kinda what i figured but just confused as to how the black series is so much cheaper outside of Disney.. and the Disney Parks one is considered better yet is less expensive. thank you though!

When I saw the black series saber, I thought it was a new version from Hasbro because the paint looked weathered. But the reply was that it was simply wear from handling. Now as of about four months later, it looks as almost all the black paint has worn off.

my cousin went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday, they did not have the Disney Parks Kylo Ren at Merchant of Venus, but they did have it in the Emporium.
 
Is anybody going to make a proper video review of the Vader? There are a ton on YouTube for Kylo and Rey but not for the Vader.

i've also been waiting for this.. although since i just bought the Kylo, i'm not looking to drop another ~$200 on a lightsaber anytime soon, but eventually i'll want it.
