My son has an inexpensive (cheap) 2-piece Kylo Ren Helmet. As a father/son project we spent a couple of weekends "fixing it up".

A few stock pictures of the original piece:

The helmet costs about $20 US, so while it has a lot of problems it would be silly to complain about the quality.

Sorry, no WIP pictures but here's what we did:

  1. Remove the velcro strips and epoxy the two halves together
  2. Fill seams with 2-part plumbers epoxy and sand
  3. Dremel (hopefully) movie accurate damage
  4. Dremel accurate weld lines
  5. Add hammered metallic texture to the surface
  6. Repaint the silver with metallic chrome paint
  7. Repaint the helmet flat black
  8. Dry brush damage and weathering

...and here's the final result:

I remember when these came out, and I was like "Wow! Little bit of elbow grease and this would be awesome," but never tried it myself. This looks amazing though! Great job!
