Hey everyone!

This all started with a Weaver K1 I found...With adjustment knobs that mimic the mauser shoulder. Perfect, it even has the brass lens rims like a hensoldt, I thought.

I decided to go the junk route, and take 70% of my inspiration from what I could easily find. That included some metal parts from equipment taken from a 60s psych lab and an S&K side rifle scope mount. Also, camera tripod nuts from China and some aluminum stock

It was a little big so I cut and flipped the ends of the Weaver rail and cut up the mount itself to resemble ESB footing. No good - way too big.

I found that the lower half looked great...A slab of metal close to the gun. I decided to cut a piece of aluminum and countersink three slotted screws through it. With a flush surface I used a smaller Weaver rail and screwed that to the plate.. even cut another notch for those Weaver rings!

I took a brass flange from my psych lab parts and dropped a vintage microphone mesh inside (and some putty to support it. Pushed four tiny screws into the Denix to keep it in place!
Still to come... An airsoft zb36 flash hider (I think 36) it's the design that the Nazis used to design the mg81!

Tssss ... another blaster build ... so uncivilized :wacko

Chaïm

What's uncivilized are my android phone pictures, my girlfriend's iphone is way better.

There's a Heiland/Nikon lightsaber on my workbench waiting for grips..

currently deciding on greeblies for this blaster. It's tough, I'm guessing only 2 or 3 more, don't want to overdo it

Here are some greeblie shots, before paint. There’s a set of Romans transistors, a random military airplane model kit part, a bar bracket using that s and K mount, and a v8 part cast. Had to putty up the one V8 part because it got damaged on top, and hung over the edge of the denix cut outs on the sides. . Some of this project is misaligned, but I guess that’s true Star Wars style :lol

And, for good measure, waiting on my flash hider tomorrow! I forgot to mention...the thing with the microphone grill - it’s a flange from a really old rotating machine. It had a plate with a black and white spiral and was meant to cause visual hallucinations I think. This was just a flange from one of the rods or the frame. The microphone came from a thrift store and the tip was a cylinder with a deep set mesh, not a big ball like usual. They just happened to be the same size, and that’s how you know they were made for eachother

finally got the flash hider! pics soon - its a new thick steel or aluminum thing, like the cone is so thick I can't dent it if I wanted to! This meant the barrel had to thin up about 1/8"

chopped it short since the flash hider is shallow

and used this bit to - section by section - cut away material. went all the way around, like a lathe but stupider ...took forever but it worked :)

here we go! i got this from evike...and then lost the grub screw :lol

i shortened the barrel even more and re did the reduced diameter like i said last post - and found a temporary screw to hold the flash hider on.

few coats of high heat black and satin clear coat...still have to touch this up a bit...oh yea, in heat curing the paint i melted the center greeblie! seemed to survive, its just warped now....i kinda like it.

Hey guess what? I scratched up the flash hider so much I decided to sand it and start over...never got there :lol it looked great like this, a little carbon scoring perhaps!

also tapped a new screw in there, threads tightened halfway down for some reason, meh, I have a new skill that fixed it
