Paint confusion help

I am in process of building Monogram 64 mustang, one of the engine parts you paint one side a colour and the other another.
But my problem is I don't understand if you paint the gear or the strap part, help. I may have figured this out

Without knowing which part it is, or seeing the instructions that you're having a problem with, it's pretty hard to help. Try looking for some reference photos of the real engine, that might help you see what the correct colours for the different components ought to be. A google image search is usually a good place to start.
