Hey all!
Don't get the time to post as often as I'd like, but we've been a bit busy
We were very fortunate to work with the Jim Henson Legacy and Museum of the Moving Image to help conserve some of the original creature props and puppets from the Dark Crystal and Labyrinth for their new Jim Henson Exhibition in NY and the traveling Jim Henson Imagination Unlimited exhibit (now in Seattle at MoPop).
If you want a quick tour of the New York Exhibit (and all of the Muppets and such they have on display!) you can find that here - http://www.tomspinadesigns.com/news/news-announcements/jim-henson-exhibition-museum-moving-image/
For more details about the work we did, you'll see that in this post on our site - http://www.tomspinadesigns.com/restoration/film-tv-props/jim-henson-exhibition-puppet-conservation/
Some pics below of just a few of the pieces we conserved and restored on for this amazing archive of original Henson props and puppets. Most notable (to us) are Aughra and a Mystic from the Dark Crystal, along with the Skeksis the Jim Henson himself performed for that show! Pretty amazing pieces just to be around and we're so proud and honored to have helped preserve these bits of movie (and Henson) history!
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the images! If you're in NY or Seattle, be sure to find your way to the exhibits! They're both amazing!
best,
Tom
