hello everyone.. posting for the first time here at RPF...

I just watched The Mummy (1999) again after spending a couple of days at Universal Studios after my first time at Comic Con.(this year I went as Nathan Drake from the Uncharted 3 Video game)

his gun bag is really amazing and im starting to plan very early my cosplay for next years Comic Con and it seems like a good idea to go as Rick O'Connell.

there is very little info about some of the items and basically no information about the layout of the bag (just what we could assume from the movie stills)

i've seen the original bag at Screenused.com http://www.screenused.com/index.cfm?item_id=3903 and gives an overall look and feel of it.

i took some screenshots of the movie when he opens it:

and saw the list of guns and other items at imfdb http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Mummy,_The_(1999) and tried to match them to an item in Amazon.

  • The bag http://a.co/1VPY5w7 (something around it or something similar or just use it as a guide and build it myself)
  • One Colt M1911A1 pistol http://a.co/6t74tKs
  • Two Chamelot-Delvigne Model 1873 revolvers. http://a.co/eIRkXJe (maybe?)
  • One Winchester Model 1897 shotgun in disassembled condition. http://a.co/5Eq1JZ9
  • One knife. ??
  • One balisong. http://a.co/2AdDmag
  • Two bandolier's with shotgun ammo. http://a.co/1NDgUzf (after some work of course)
  • Dynamite sticks. (something DIY)

im intrigued by what type of knife will he carry? a 1920s "egyptian" army knife?

and also this item that Evie picks up, is it a torture ring? knife ring?

You're are correct in that the two revolvers in the bag and the one in Rick's had are indeed Chamelot-Delvigne Model 1873 revolvers, you can check here as well,

I am wondering if this might be a small crossbow.

The 1911s are actually 1911s, and not 1911A1s—one of the few films to get that detail correct as far as period pieces go. You can tell in the shot of him trying to grab it from the sand in an earlier scene; it lacked the characteristic A1 frame scallop behind the trigger guard.

You're correct on the revolvers.

I'm super late to this party, but yes that looks a lot like a balestrino - a bit like this one: 17thC Balestrino crossbow
