Luke Skywalker costume and prop from The Last Jedi - POSSIBLE SPOILERS

I did a rough start on mine this morning. Finally getting my work shop together. Still have a few things to bring over from the garage but I now have more outlets so I can hook up the tools on my center bench.

I stole this pine from a job site, it was left over. I have a even larger piece to make a mantle for my mom

Gotta bring the table sander home next weekend and start rounding it. I'm tall so I did 42 inches long but am probably going to cut it shorter

Nice start! I'm starting mine in a day or two. I've been woodworking for some time now but I don't have many bigger power tools. Just my drill, jigsaw, circular saw, dremel, router, and other small stuff among MANY hand tools. No bandsaw, electric sander, or anything like that. This will be FUUNNNNN........

I did my first couple longer too but it just didn't feel right. Yours is looking good.

Thanks your a great teacher! I'm hoping dark walnut stain works, with maybe a linseed oil
I'll be at my shop later. I'll snap a pic of which stain I used last time. It worked really well in my opinion. It was a gel based stain so it added a nice weathered feel with multiple layers. I think I was just a standard walnut but I'll check. (Not that you have to use the same as me of course but just a frame of reference).

First picture shows how I colored in some areas of the teeth and eye socket with a black sharpie. The 2 photos below are before the linseed oil

I've been calling it the dragon cane... but now I'm thinking this isn't a cane for Luke, but yet a wooden sword to train with...

Looks great! And that shop isn't too shabby, either. How do you like that Ryobi drill press?

its great for the price, i bought a 20 dollar vise from homedepot for it. thing is cast all warped. i had to clean it up with the milling machine it was so out of wack. but the drill works great, center laser, and led light for 130 bucks you can't beat it. better then any other drill press in the 120-160 dollar price range :thumbsup

I hurt my knee skating the other day and I'm still having trouble getting in/out of chairs.

so, I'm making Luke's walking stick out of necessity, lol
