Wolfwood .45 Grader Pistol (Trigun)

It's been almost 3.5 years since I've updated this project in the original Cross Punisher thread. I have been blowing the dust off of my kits and projects that have been stored since I last worked on them.

The cross punisher was water damaged beyond repair, so that will have to be started from scratch again.

I started working on the pistols again, though. I picked up a recast of the Poseidon kit years ago from a member (I believe it was either a Rook copy before he passed away, or a SidKit), and I bought a Colt Commando bb gun to modify based off of the copy.

First things first, I started boring out the slide ports. The copy is on top, Colt on bottom

My plan for this project is to modify the bb gun as far as possible, then cast in resin and finish the mods. Final kits, if I decide to sell any in the end, will be solid casts. That's a ways away from here, though. Wish me luck!

UPDATE: 07/25/2017

Worked some more on the upper slide. I'll need to fabricate a new front sight post.

I'll also have to reposition the ejection port farther back. That should be fun!

Cut down the front of the lower frame, cleaned up the front of the slide, and started working on the magazine release.

UPDATE: 07/26/2017

I worked on the top slide some more, filling in the gap between the guide rod area and the, now shorter, lower frame.

I started filing down the factory engravings and converting the cocking serrations to the 4 per side like the Grader's.

Forgot to take photos of the new sights before I started filling in the ejection port in preparation of moving it back. It's currently sitting outside to dry.

I cleaned up the bondo on the slide, and moved on to the trigger guard area. I have to thicken up the bottom of the guard, as well as where the slide cocking trigger goes.

I seem to have gotten a little bit ahead of my self and had to back-pedal some. The cocking serations were too far back, so I had to fill in the back ones and add one to the front. Now there is enough room for the safety selector switch!

I also added some details to the rear of the slide, by the hammer.

Tonight I'm working on some smaller details while I'm waiting on more bondo to dry on the frame. The most exciting part was boring out the magazine release button. I was worried about messing it up, but it came out almost perfectly.

Done for the night. I shaved down the back edge on the grip area to match the Grader's shape. Made a more accurate plunger tube for the safety and slide stop.

Honestly, I thought there would be more interest in this project, but I'm still hopeful haha.

Alright, today was a little unproductive, as I had to get my spine injection this morning (old injury from my service in the Army).

I had to fill in the slide latch notch and start over, as I made it square instead of rounded (oops!). I've now made 4 different triggers for this thing, and I'm finally happy with it. Now it just needs the three holes drilled out.

Made a new hammer in the correct style and installed it. Still needs some refining, though, as does the cocking lever in front of the trigger. It's getting there!

I'm enjoying this build. I used to have the Poseidon kit, but it got damaged and I sold what was left.

Alrighty, lots to talk about today. Finally started shaping out the front of the lower frame and around the trigger. The barrel area is coming together, as well, and I reshaped the cocking trigger and added the screws to it.

I also cut the grip and gave it the correct angle, then used epoxy to rejoin it.

EDIT:

I worked the recess into the trigger area for the cocking trigger.

P.s. Ignore all of the cracks in the bondo. It's the wrong kind of bondo for huge fillings, but once I primer it, I'll be able to fill in those spots before the waste mold is made.
