Low-Low-Budget Spider-Man suit build for a young Miles Morales! (Pic Heavy!)

Hey everyone! So my young cousin is also a huge fan of Marvel comics. And I barely get to see him, but every time I do I love celebrating our shared love for the characters and universe. This time around I thought I'd try to make him a costume for one of his favorite characters. And his favorites just so happen to be Miles Morales and Black Panther! So, since he's around the same age as Miles was in the comics, I decided to try my hand at making a suit for him. Only catch: I had 2 weeks to do it, and I had college finals to wrap up. So it was quite a challenge, not going to lie!

Now onto the actual build itself! I wanted to share this because it was about as budget of a build as I think you can do on a Spidey suit. First was the suit. I bought two sports tight compression shirts, leggings and 'gym shoes' at my nearest budget store (like a dollar store or a cheap clothing store, I don't know the equivalent in the US), about 10 euro for everything. Also bought quite a bit of black cotton-stretchy fabric for the mask that matched the shirt, and I was set. If I were a better seamstress, I would've done it all from fabric, but I was short on time. I bought Diam's Deep Red Puffpaint for the whole suit. Note that I bought 2 bottles, and ran out. So if you're planning on doing this, definitely buy more than 2 bottles! And then I was off to do the whole patterns and everything.

For the lenses, I bought a cheap plastic kid's Spider-Man mask, cut out the eye-shapes, then used plastic Fanta 2L bottles along with some tulle netting and some white organza for the lenses. For the face-shell, I used some pepakura files (I don't remember whose, I'll be happy to credit if I can find it again), then adapted the lenses to the shell (not shown here). For the fingers, I went for a simplified pattern. Miles has red fingers with black lines on them, but here I just went for more traditional red lines. Forgot to mention, but the gloves also had some cool grips on the palm and stuff, which my cousin really liked because it gave the illusion that his hands were kind of cligging to everything all the time like the real Spider-Man!
