C-3PO build advice

I'm about to start a life-size C-3PO build. I wanted to get some advice from some people who have done this before.
I have done a lot of research, and have thought about how I want to do this build. I can't find a lot of places that have vacumform c-3po kits.
what I have found is a bit out of my price range at the moment. So I thought about doing a pepakura version of 3po and building him that way.
I'm worried about detail. My question is about the amount of detail that can be achieved in a build with pepakura on this scale?
I'm afraid of it looking like a cheap statue or costume.
can anyone give me some advice.

Thank you

Some pep builds I've seen look amazing, with the right skill, time and effort you can make whatever your building look very detailed. A lot of detail can be tweaked or added at a later stage of building. Hope that makes some sense lol

If you share some screenshots of the pep file 3D maybe we could comment more.
The death star droid shares some main overall parts less the ribbed detail and maybe a better base to get smooth.
Then add detail.

Here are some screenshots for you to check out. Now I have no clue how to use pepakura designer. I know how to build pepakura, just not use the program well. I pretty much know how to print it out. For the arms just use pvc pipe with couplers on the ends.
To taper the forearm cut out a wedge and use a smaller coupler at the wrist.

Evergreen styrene strips can be used for the striping for sharp details.

I don't think those files are really much use.
The mask looks ok but is probably the easiest thing to get for not to much money.....
