Thanks guys. She is starting to come together. With each section i get confirmation that all dimensions and angles are correct and it starts looking like a Sandcrawler instead of a big white box.

AWESOME work there Marvin!!! I can really appreciate the hand cut, styrene cutting nature of what you are doing here, and you are pulling it off amazingly perfect! This really looks great and is definitely on it's way to being added to the great Star Wars replica creations!! Keep up the great work!

Totally agree with everything everyone has said. I bet you get a lot of satisfaction doing this and at the end of the project you will be on the biggest HIGH ever, for a while at least, until the next project comes along. Keep up the good work and will be following this thread closely.

just found this gem of a build - cant wait to follow this. I am in the throws of building Randy Coopers Crawler which has been great fun although I confess to straying and adding quite a lot of my own add-lib detail

Its great to see a studio scale crawler being brought to life using modern day technology for accuracy. Your need to get a picture of this with Lorne when its completed - I'm sure you know it, but his book explains more about the tracks and how they extended the links etc

I'm crawling along with your build - and looking forward to seeing more soon

Haha I'd love for Lorne to check it out once done, trouble would be getting it from The Netherlands to the USA in one piece. I think sending him pics would have to suffice.

Yeah I know about the injection folded extension. I can do that too. The trouble will be in the tracks as it's impossible for me to source enough vintage sherman tracks and parts to do the build that way. This will probably be my only real concession that i will HAVE to make.....

Thanks guys. She’s moving along in a slow but steady pace. Just what you’d expect from a Sandcrawler...

Thanks guys. I am still missing a few ID's on these sections so I'd appreciate it if people could have a look if they recognise anything. If anyone can help me out here or in PM it would be greatly appreciated.

The parts in section R2 I can't ID because I don't have a clear pic of them. I'd be happy with a better pic if anyone has it.

Section R1 reminds me of a part in the Tamiya 1/35 88mm gun. . .

I'm not sure. But, the parts in R2 look like the same Bandai Panther G parts that are on the Jedi training remote miniature.

I know the part you mean and would make sense as the Panther is all over this thing. But the flat top of that part is completely smooth and this part seems to have a smaller circular detail on the flat top..... Oh and is less conical too. Looks almost like a disc.

Yeah i checked that part too. It's very similar, but not correct. So maybe another gun..... think the styrene should be light grey.

The parts in T1 look like something from a rifel accessory kit and the Y looking thing looks like a tripod for the M2 50 BMG
