Another Spider Man Homecoming double suit build...

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been working but the texturing is very slow seeing as how I have to retouch every single puff paint dot a second time to achieve the right level. Here’s a little teaser of the torso. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170629/dc84bc5f97ff43f4aee8381cbcfe3541.jpg
I’m considering leaving the spider the way it is, I’m kind of digging the indented look, but it’s also not very screen-accurate. I don’t know. Thoughts?

Somebody on instagram (_mario_hudson_) dm'd me a pic of the homemade web shooters. I don't know if they're the real thing or not, but they look like they are.

Hey sorry for the lack of updates, I ended up being wayyy short on the texturing with my Stark suit, and I’ve been having some serious faceshell issues, so I ended up going to the premier (of perhaps the best spiderman movie yet) in my homecoming suit. Unfortunately I had to use someone else as my cameraman so I have few quality pictures to offer. As for the ones I have, I apologize for the fuzziness and my generally awkward posture.

Great job!! How did you create the mask for the "homemade" suit. You said that you used a tshirt. Can you elaborate on your process, id like to make one and I have no idea where to start. Thanks!

edit: my bad, didn't see the second page.

No problem! I'm remaking my mask at the moment, so this will be a great opportunity to show you my process.
Since I used a full jacket/hoodie for my vest, I have these nice big fleece sleeves left over. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170620/db8e33d544ef8c11882065013033d1c3.jpg After undoing the stitching, I'm left with two sizable sheets of fleece.

Laid on top of each other with the insides facing outward, I freehanded a head profile, which I then stitched together and cut out.

Before turning it rightside out, I folded the mask horizontally at the chin point https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170620/525f82919ec3e27573c9ff420836d4a2.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170620/614a6910f5ddb6bc5cdfedc6e5ddf972.jpg and then stitched across it so as to remove the pointed look when I'm wearing the mask. It also helps to define the jaw a bit more. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170620/0f8ca05706aad66307192381ba612398.jpg and tada! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170620/5e5f107e5d31349a11747a4f709ee788.jpg I may insert a zipper in the rear at the neck so that I can get it a bit more taut, I'll keep you updated.

Did you have a pattern for the mask or did you just free hand it?

I love how you did the lens frames! I bought the same mask and was trying to remove the lenses... didn't think to cut through the plastic! :lol
Stoked to see you finish bro!

So am I! Texturing is such slow going, and I’ve been horribly busy, but we’re getting closer. I’m also working on a prototype mask with animated lenses using the base mechanics of the Hasbro Spider Sight Mask. Will be posting updates as soon as there are some significant ones.

Lol I also bought the spider-sight mask! It ended up looking really weird on my head, so I'm probably going to make my own mask :lol
