Darth Vader shins from scratch

i made a vader suit for my friend (who is 6ft 2) and the shins looked like cricket pads on me :) so i wouldnt worry about correct size , unless you're Dave Prowse stunt double :)

Looking good. I think you need to bulk up the width towards the top of the shins, similar to how legs are shaped - thin at the bottom, then a slow curve out, leveling, and then curving in again towards the very top.

Also, when you talk about symmetry for something like shin guards, you usually don't talk about left and right side symmetry of the piece itself, but rather that the left shin and right shin should be exact, only mirrored to each other, as a completely symmetrical shin guard would look weird on your leg, as it goes against the contours of your leg.

Something more like this. Of course, I just chose the right shin, but the left shin seems less curved and more similar in shape on either side of the mid strip, so perhaps that's a better template to work from as it seems closer to what you have sculpted.

Yeah sorry for the misunderstanding my plan is to make them as close as possible to the one you just posted here in auction a while ago at the PropStore in London.
Even though they will look close I won't make the right one longer in order to match my shin sizes.
I am sculpting only the left one ATM I will start the right one once I happy with this one although it will be preferable have both at hand for comparison.
I have been studying those pics for a bit now and I noticed that the camera angle and the lens affect quite a bit the way my sculpt looks. Of course the mobile is the worst option. I have been taking some pics the last weekend just to have a better idea.

Then I spent some time to figure out where I was with the sculpt and made some comparisons with a left shin cast from original, mine, the propstore one and one from an original picture.
Of course the first one on the left is been taken with a mobile so I didn't consider it much

And made this other one

Studying the picture I noticed that the camera angle and position when the pic was taken was slightly below and on the right rather than straight at the top like mine

The next step will be to mock up the same position with the camera to have a better comparison pictures

Here some of the key shapes I have been trying to replicate in my sculpt

And here in red of the areas that I am not very happy with.
For some of the curvatures on the right side of the picture I will take better pictures before start bulking up volume on that side
