Re: lifesize props BCD

They are made using a basic wood structure and 2 casted sidepanels that are mounted on the sides. The locks were molded and casted.
The grid panels were lasercut and mounted in place. We also made some internal wiring for lights.

As some of you may have seen on the star wars youtube channel or starwars.com. (https://www.starwars.com/news/millennium-falcon-experience-prepares-to-launch)
We made a life size interior for lucasfilm. We made most of it in Belgium in parts and shipped it by plane to the US. Where our team BCD, Lucasfilm, ProjectX1 and other people finished it.

I'll give a short discription here how we made it. but if you want to see more build photo's you can find them on our page here.

So here is how we build it!

part I: The Cockpit

First we got plans and had to measure everything . We designed these files.

We had these files printed on boards. These were givin all kinds of greeblies. Like thousand of lasercut acryllic squares, lights, knobs,...

These all had to light up and work. So we wired them all.

Then comes the frame. This holds all of the boards.

Look at how beautifull it looks.

And behold, it's already bin used for filming.

part II: The Console

It's a wooden frame with more of our printed boards ontop.

This console was also given wiring for lights.

We were given some production and maybe even screen used parts from Pinewood studios to add to the console.

Part III: The chess corner

We made seperate parts in wood in Belgium in our hangar.

These all together make the base of the chess corner. and was send via shipping to the US where it was finished.

On top of the chess corner came more wooden modules. These were covered with printed boards.
The seating is carved foam.

When everything was painted and fitted together we added handmade seat covers.
