Official V3 Nike MAG Replica Thread - V3 Discussion Thread

Still not got mine.

Paid 26th Dec

Not sent till 10th Jan

Tracking shows sent back to sender on the 13th.

It's now the 22nd and they haven't received them and won't do anything until they do.

Common sense would say to send another pair out and wait for the first to be returned to them.

Useless customer service.

The only thing I can think of is replace them with metal gears.

You should be able to count teeth and measure the size of them and find some online.

The only problem, is this gear. It dosen't come of. If this one fails, the ENTIRE thing fails

Sometimes they are just pressure fit or a tiny allen screw. Worst case you just measure and take pictures of it and break it off. Then thread the shaft and get gears that screw on it.

Someone might know how to take it off properly too.

Looks like a pressure fit. You can heat it up to try to get it to expand and pull it off. Just try to get the bearing hot.

Really? It's China....their whole country is made of crap.
I beg to differ there. Do you have any Cannon Camera products? Even though it says MADE IN JAPAN, think again. I know because I have been to the factories (in Nanjing) where they make the optics for companies like Canon. The lenses are assembled in Japan but the glass itself is made and ground in China. My cylindrical lenses are accurate to less than 1/100th of a degree, so extremely precise.

The problem here is this is not a precise optical component with outside supervision and tight QC. So they will use crap because these are just replica shoes in the end of the day.

In other news, V3 clear sole molds are coming along nicely.

I am pretty much out of pyramid mat.
I am making these 2 part molds and so the magnets serve 2 purpose here.
1 to hold the job down on the steel levelling table and 2, registration points for the 2nd half.

The inner wing mold is loaded with PU and curing now.

Also my not 100 percent accurate bag and book arrived. It is pretty neat.

I'm happy with mine! Yours came a lot faster than mine. Guess you're a bit closer than me. :)

Was your bag folded in half?
I didn't look to see where it came from. I would have happily paid shipping if they didn't have to fold it.

Yeah I just checked the package and it is from a Simon Poon, Singapore. Wonder if he is related to Mark or if Poon is just a common surname like Smith?

Maybe, but i also wonder if maybe the person is using the surname to confuse buyers. Mark Poon (as you know) is a pretty well known name for props, especially BTTF stuff.
