Official V3 Nike MAG Replica Thread - V3 Discussion Thread

Normally the MAGs are quite a warm shoe and better suited for winter. Youngest boy decided he wanted to go Ice Skating for his 10th birthday and my toes felt like they were freezing off.

The V3s might be more bearable in summer than the V2s or the HCs with all that foam in them :D

Found this tonight. I am hoping that if I can syringe some Tarzan Grip inside, press and clamp of 12 or so hours that it might stop further damage to this popped seam.
Right shoe on the outside seam. The other 3 seem fine. I am just going to call it luck of the draw here.

My right Mag isn't lighting up, even when plugged in. Is this normal? Does it just need to charge?

Edit
Yep, just needed to charge. I shot a quick video showing one of my DVDs in action. https://youtu.be/3Qq070ul-DU

cavx how often do you wear your mags? I think I’ve only worn my wear pair about 15-20 times.

Heaps. Lost count how many times I have worn them over the time I have owned them.

Anyway fixed (mostly) using the gel based Tarzan's Grip.

I’m convinced that the majority of these shoes from day one have stress on them at this point. Mine definitely look as though they’d like to pop open & I haven’t even worn them too much.

It is supposed to take 15% off the US$499, but I have seen cases where it is less, my own shoes included.

Its never been 15%
Its $15 dollars off, plus a 6% discount for using Western Union.

there was a code for $20 if you subbed to their instagram, i dont know if that code is still good or what it was.
Also, they give out a pretty good discount for Black friday...

From the feel of my wear pair, there is a gap or break in the sub structure at this point. It seems that causes the crease you can see on many wear shots and it possible this crease (plus movement) is the cause of the seam pop. The fabric is tight there from the beginning.

So it is, thanks.

That probably was caused by the pressure of your jeans pushing down on them.

I seriously doubt that or this seam pop would be on the other shoe as well. Now that my pair are well worn in, you can feel the collar substrate makes an arc around the base of the buckle and I can sort of feel this line on the display pair as well, though not as obvious because that pair is stiff as they have never been worn. I'm going to suggest that the template that holds the shape is cut into parts to allow flex and movement of the shoe during wearing and that is it not a single part of foam of whatever they have used.

I think there is more pressure from the cuff of the jeans when they are rolled up than placed over the top.

I wear these heaps because they light and comfortable, and I like the clean toe, minimal seams. I drive my car in them as well, but given the right shoe popped, can't be the clutch.

Nice to see the repair worked. If you ever have to sew anything on them, Woolworths have clear thread you can use with a regular needle so it won't show.
