I didn't mention cutting, you can just use tweezers or something and heat the area and pull the clear off the panel with the tweezers and let it cool and the spots will be gone. You don't have to take anything apart to do it.

Look at what came today!
Both look great.
Also they have a size 10.5 label in them. This will be a display pair, but I tried them on to see if they felt different. They really don’t.
Maybe if I walked around in then they would, but I’m trying to avoid the creases.

I've got one on order. They don't ship to Australia so I had to get myself a shipmate in the US who then posts it on to me.
Not 100 percent sure what I will do with this yet as I really only bought it for a pattern. Part of me just wants to cut it up for pattern pieces. Part of me thinks I'll just upgrade parts.
I will be replacing the vest portion with my own part as mine is at least made from a light diffuser.
Just really want a jacket ready for next year when the film turns 30.

It’s not super screen accurate, but it’s pretty fun. It’s also hot as hades to wear. I loved wearing it for Halloween.

How different will your new buckle be to the V3? You had mentioned before it’s more domed in the middle; will you be doing a comparison shot?

When they are cast, I'll happily post images.
If you google images of the screen used shoe, you can see how much more rounded it is. I am not sure why NIKE flattened it out for the 2011 release. My guess is, there was 6 pairs made and NIKE supposedly got just 1 shoe back from those (right shoe as left was at Universal for a time?). Given the shoe they had was not from the hero pair worn by Michael (that clearly has this domed buckle) it is possible that the shoe they got back was a bit flat on the back due to the rigors of shooting the film. They did the best they could with what they had. They admit they changed stuff on the sole to make the shoe more wearable, so maybe the buckle underwent a trim as well.

I was watching the movie the other night and the screen shoes look so much less rigid than what Nike put out. I too am a fan of the toe sock look. I wonder why Nike didn't get closer on that when they put their shoes out.

Well, it does look better than the original one they put out. I just can't justify buying a jacket I'd only wear to conventions. The MAGs I feel happy with wearing anytime.

Yeah I hear you. Mine was on sale for like 60 bucks when I bought it. I bought it for Halloween.
Wore my shoes out for the first time tonight. The kids loved it.

Well they kind of did true replicas but they only made one shoe of the pair this way. The other shoe was a normal 2011 version.
You can find a video unboxing on YouTube under Nike MAG friends and family.
The differences are small but for fans of the movie shoe, this is what you would want to own. Apart from the sock toe, the best thing was the black box with yellow Nike Footwear on the lid. Way cooler than the yellow box of the 2011 auction pair.
I can understand why Nike did what they did because even unworn V3s look hot. My display pair looks so much nicer in shape than my wear pair. A sock toe or slumping upper tends to look a bit sloppy. Given these were not meant to be worn, a slim toe with appropriate toe cap to keep the shape, makes sense.
