Will post a video of it running what I get a 5v power supply.

How come you went for an LED array instead of an LCD? Surely that would be easier, especially when it comes to having the "Solar charge level" text, and flashing "Warning" text.
I used an LCD on my little 6" Wall-E, easy enough to do the text and bar effects with an arduino.

Dont have any pics/video handy of the screen, but i'll dig it out and get some over the weekend.
I havent actually touched it in about 4 years, i'm slack.
Few build pics here though: http://members.iinet.net.au/~canison/walle/

2 servos in each arm, 6 or 7 in the head. Audio board, LCD for the screen, motor driver, gyro/accelerometer so he knows if he's tipped over, ultrasonic rangefinder in one eye, webcam in the other, hooked up to a Raspberry Pi doing face recognition, so he can follow faces.

I really should get around to finishing him.

?? What the...

Why?

I guess if he wants to start a 'blog' to continue.. thats his choice...

but why go through the trouble to REMOVE everything that was posted here? What was/is the point?

I really enjoyed his work/project too! (bummer.. dead to me now I guess)
