Hasbro Marvel Legends Star-Lord Mask and Mjolnir

Check your order numbers!

I also got the email & gift card, but when I went to my account, it's still showing for an August 3rd delivery.

I called Amazon & was told the email I received today was for the previous order that had been cancelled. The order number in the email didn't match the current order, so she checked several times, & assured me the helmet is still in my orders & on its way.

Just make sure you don't have two on the way if you ordered again after today's email.

Here's a little bit of information I was able to dig up. After Amazon cancelled my initial order, I went to EntertainmentEarth.com and placed an order there, thinking I should probably come up with an alternative.

I went to their site again today, after seeing it was relisted on Amazon, and discovered that I could not find the helmet on EntertainmentEarth.com anymore. I checked my order, referenced the item number, and saw that it had been removed from their site.

I decided I should give their customer support an e-mail, so I did so:

Hi there,

Order Date: 5/1/2017
Order No.: [Removed]
Internet Order No.: [Removed]

HSC0692, 1, Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord Electronic Helmet, On Pre-Order, Earliest Arrival Date is July 2017

So, my questions are as follows...

The link to this item on your site appears to no longer be valid:

http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HSC0692

I initially preordered this item on Amazon back in February. Amazon then pulled the item and cancelled preorders in April. I found it on your site, and placed my order May 1. Now, it appears to be back on Amazon again, and gone from your own site.

What's going on? Am I likely to get this item from you guys? Can you tell me anything more at this point?

Thanks

I got this response from the Entertainment Earth Customer Support:

Hello there,
Thank you for your email.

Hasbro told us that we had put the item up too early on our website, this was also originally the case with Amazon but apparently they have handed over the “first to market” rights to Amazon at this time. We still have your order, your order is still valid with us and we aren’t going to cancel it.. You basically got access to pre-order the item before it was even supposed to be up for pre-order.

Once the item is actually shipped to us, we will then turn it around and ship your order out. It is still expected to arrive in July, but we cannot keep the listing up on our website at this time due to Hasbro not giving us the rights to do so.

Please let me know of any other questions or concerns.

Regards,

Kat Thornburgh | Client Services Representative

Interesting. I wonder if Amazon took the item down because other retailers infringed on their contractual "first to market" rights and broke the deal off with Hasbro, then re-established it after Hasbro made other retailers take theirs down? There are still a number of sites offering the helmet for sale, so I don't know what sense that makes... but maybe that's a start.

I'm debating if I want to keep my Amazon preorder or not at this point, if only because EE seems to have the situation under control. I ultimately don't want to end up with two of these, nice as it may be.

Mine was cancelled but it was just sitting in my cart for later. I had already ordered from EE and it was about the same price so I changed my mind about completing the Amazon checkout. Glad I did now.

Fool my once, Amazon...

Weird to hear that there are still Amazon problems. Ordered May 7th, everything still looks good. Can't wait for that to come, bday is July 31st, so that's going to be a good week if it arrives Aug 3. Hope to see some more pics or video of it (maybe it will be on display at an upcoming comic con?). I know it won't compare to some of the custom made ones on here, but I hope the Hasbro one isn't obnoxiously huge or something that just doesn't even look right while wearing.

Received the cancellation email and $10 gift card, but it still says it's arriving August 3rd in my Orders. This whole this is so weird! I just pray I can get my hands on one of these eventually...

I said this earlier, but in case some missed it...

Check you order numbers, because according to Amazon, NO ORDERS have been cancelled. The emails people received yesterday were for the first orders that were cancelled several weeks ago when there was an issue.

Easiest way to tell- Look at the order number referenced in the email yesterday, then look at the order number in your pre-order. They shouldn't match.

The rep yesterday told me they were sending out the gift vouchers via email, so that's why we got the notifications yesterday.

I received the helmet today from Entertainment Earth and it looks OK except for a weird film around the eyes that CANNOT be removed! Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? IMG_0439.JPGIMG_0440.JPG

Got mine today from Entertainment Earth, too. I'm super, super impressed with the quality of the helmet.

I did notice a similar fogging/filming on the lenses (it picked up my fingerprints almost immediately) but a bit of windex seemed to smooth things out, at least from what I could see. The Bluetooth functionality took a bit of fighting to get to sync up to my phone - it wasn't showing up on scans, but you just have to keep hitting the LED light to re-prompt the helmet. Once it did sync up, though, it's amazing. I'm legitimately surprised how well the audio comes through - audible to both the wearer and surroundings, so I guess you can set up your own dance-offs now.

There's rubberized webbing and face padding that makes it surprisingly comfortable to wear, and the visibility ain't actually that bad, all things considered. I would consider this a step up from even the Iron Man Legends helmet, which I was already in love with.

Yea I ordered from Amazon as well...hope they ship them earlier but not banking on it...lol

The Paint job looks much better than the promotional photo's previously listed... Not sure if repainting will be needed...what say you @Ein

^ looks awesome!

Can't wait to get mine, ordered from Amazon, so I think ETA is August 3

I don't know if EE was actually supposed to ship 'em this early, but I'm not complaining. It cost $109, rather than $99 on Amazon, for what it's worth. I bought my Mjolnir on Amazon and am probably going to have to wait for that one.

I only just got home, but I have time to respond and post more pics, so lets do that.

Hey @Ein Whats going on with the gap on the helmet? Just wanted to know if that is normal or a sizing thing?

It is a normal thing. Edit: Not a normal thing. I failed to close the helmet fully. :lol If you check the pics I'm attaching below, you'll see a little better. The hinge to get the helmet on and off was built in along that seam, so it's a bit bulkier than screen-accurate might necessarily be. I feel like it's a fair compromise under the circumstances - my 3d printed helmet has a fixed back plate, and getting it on and off is a nightmare.

Paint job is good. Quite good, I'd say. The weathering is a little flat, but it's a mass-produced, $99 helmet. For what it costs, it's amazingly well put together. There are some details, like the ribbed hosing on the cheek pipes, which should in fact be silver as far as I know from my review of the actual Star Lord helmet. You could very easily repaint or add detail to some of those parts, I'd imagine.

Verdict so far: For $100, I honestly think it'd be stupid not to buy this if you have any interest at all in the franchise. I 3d printed my own helmet two years ago, and still have it, but would hands-down prefer wearing this thing instead. It's smartly designed, and I love it.
