Real Ghostbusters...

Wasn't sure where to put this,

But in my effort to wind down from Ninja Turtles, I've decided one of the projects i'd like to start is real ghostbuster 3D Printed props.
The goal is to see if I can make models as close to 'looking right' as we can get, considering most of the shows models where not very detailed, or ON model most of the time.
Release the files into the wild, and see if people can print and recreate working props.

I think the EASIEST one to start off with is probably the PKE meter. Design it as a 'connected' prop first. and then disassemble it into pieces (moving versus static) and upload for people to print.

It'll be interesting t osee what people could do with it.

One of my favorite cartoons as a kid :)

This looks like a fun one, I look forward to seeing how your models turn out, and may try to print some myself.

i've only seen one RGB proton pack prop that 'looked right' to me. i doubt i could do better, but if people print what i make, and we see how it looks in real life, we can adjust the model and make changes, or i can upload the base model and give it to people who know how to improve it properly.

It should be an interesting experiment.

I plan to start work on the PKE tomorrow. the other project is completing a day ahead of schedule, faster than thought.

Is it being designed as a static prop, or will the pieces move?

As whoever downloads the file wants it to be.

I plan to make it available as either a static file OBJ or in pieces. With a moving Turning knobs and a antenna top that could pup up at at a pull....

I don't plan to print it myself, but i'm curious to see what other people can do and improve on with the basic object i create.

El Finito.

There are two problems i can see that someone is going to have printing this and making it fully cartoon functional.
One....
I made a hole for the antenna to drop into the PKE. but, how would the antenna stay up when it's extended?
Two-
I made slots for the Rods to go up and down. but how would they attach to the antenna?

I could model it if anyone has any ideas....but for now, this is finished.
IF there was a sight i could upload this too that was free, folks could begin printing and modifying asap.

Now I just have to create the proper versions for printed and static. Static everything will be connected.
Printed, the holes in the buttons and main body will be filled up so you could drill.

If you where going to print it in Seperate parts...

If you where going to print it static.

i wonder if i uploaded it to google drive. people can download from those links, right?

The model is all set and ready to go. although the antenna rods will need some thickening if they are going to print properly i think.
link coming soon.
