Custom 1/12 Bandai R2-D2 Clone Wars D-Squad

Hi I just wanted to share my current project, R2-D2 Clone Wars animated style from the D-Squad story arc. It is almost completed but I am waiting for some Tamiya panel line accent paint from Japan to arrive for a few panel lines and have to apply the flat sealer and want to keep the photo eye glossy so it has yet to be installed..













These droids have been so much fun to build. The R5 will soon become U9-C4 and I will purchase another R2 and R5 set to make QT-KT and M5-BZ.

Nice job! I've been thinking of doing this as well. Such a great story-line.

Thanks. I say go for it. Theses Bandai kits are so well engineered and detailed that they're a blast to build. I'm looking so forward to making the rest of the droids. I have scoured shapeways for a 1/12 M5-BZ (R4) dome and pit droid for WAC, but have had no luck. Hopefully someone will design them in the future and offer them for sale.

The way you painted it. It looks like the original proposal model build from wood. I have some pic. Somewhere when I went to the star wars Expo.. that's cool! Great job!
