Awesome result, Docmani! So, what did you use for the S-foil weapon pod fairings (I was thinking they used A-4 Skyhawk intake shapes cut from the fuselage halves...)

Again, really sharp work , spot on!

Regards, Robert

Thank you for the kind words!

As far as the weapon pods, this was a kit. You would have to ask Steve N what he used for the pattern. :)

So, I sourced the original treads for the part above, cut the part up, 3D printed some mounting inserts....

I'm also hoping to have a rotating cockpit if I get this kit - can you share what the original treads part is so I can also replace the detail?
Many thanks.

Pretty sure the tracks are from the Flakpanzer Gepard or the Leopard 1A4 (same tracks by the way), Tamiya 1/35th.
Cheers :)

Hey Docmani,
How are your S-foils attached?
Do they fold or are they glued in the attack position?

I was mystified to see that even after your excellent paint job, there were still no holes in the mounts for a hinge or rod ;)

Thanks,
Graham

They are pinned in attack position.

Recently, Jason Eaton successfully drilled out the hinges and reinforced them with brass rod. He then had another brass rod nested inside to hold the wings on.

He cracked the wing in the process and admitted it was a serious pain.

If is possible though.

I decided just to pin it in position and be done with it. ;)

Superb build.I just got this kit and this build will be helpful for part placement. What did you use for reference photos? What did you use for the white lights?

Carl
