Unfortunately not, I'm still on the wait list for my hinges! No idea how much longer I need to wait though, just have to be patient :D

I'm late to the party, nice video! i have the same sander, well... here in the states we have a stupid safety key thing... i like your setup much better! its a great little machine dad and i have already put mine to the test. he isn't a ryobi fan and said he was very impressed. the quick change belt option is awesome as well
 
Can you share your "time until hinges ship" over here when you find out? I'm on the cusp of ordering as well and I'm curious. Thanks!

As luck would have it I just scored myself a full set of the hinges that I was originally wanting over on the astromech.net Junkyard! (They come with the servo + linkages too) Best part is I can skip the long wait list and get rolling on properly building this dome finally!

I also ordered myself an Aluminium Radar eye last week which should arrive soon as well :D

I was literally just scrolling through the Junkyard on my phone right after waking up and saw it, I thought I was dreaming so I had to wake myself up and get to the computer ASAP and happen to get lucky!
 
I love big brown box day! (Or rather small brown box day in this case haha)
So for those who aren't so familiar with R2 these are my dome hinges and these are hinges as mad by Holme (the best you can get!)

I scored these through the R2 Builders Junkyard from another builder who decided not to go for dome hinges so they came with servos and linkages on the hinges as well. Now as soon as I get myself some Captive Studs I can start installing the hinges and attaching panels! That and I skipped something like a 3-4 month wait on hinges by buying them this way

Should receive my Aluminium Radar Eye this week too!

Personally I'm not going to do a Magic Panel for my R2, I figure that since it's seen in just one frame or two for the price point I just can't justify it (for me it would be close to $240 AUD for the panel + shipping to Australia)

Although if memory serves me right IA Parts is the only guy to have done them before so I'd say watch his Updates through on astromech.net for updates on when he'll do some more :)

It’s crazy how much mounting the Eye suddenly adds so much Character!
I was finally able to drill the holes through my outer dome and get the radar eye mounted properly, that's one more job ticked of the long list :)

Couldn’t resist doing a test with the hinges! It’s only held on with masking tape for pics but it’s extremely satisfying to see this fella start to come to life. Now imagine my dome with another 2 hinges, all the lights and boards mounted as well as Holo projectors and other goodies! This fella is going to be jam packed and I can't wait!
