M19 telescope mhr 1942 build

Ive only seen one m3 periscope, it was brand new in box (new old stock). Thanks to Thd9791 for putting me on the right track.

Im excited to see what you come up with!

Im going to make the aluminum one first....The optics i am still working on...Don't underestimate the complexity of those prisms and lens. They are Still very high tech even by todays standards... go look online at prisms just the 90 degree one are 60 to 200 dollars..The m19 has 4! I looking at having them done custom.. maybe in quantity they will be reasonable
Should know alot more after i get the first model machined......

I know i cant wait for a replica because the original are very tough to find and extremely expensive

The m3 periscope is virtually non existent now...So keep your eyes open!

The M3 is worth alot of money$$$$

The only issue with mine is that it has all original paperwork but it's printed on the label m19 azimuth and I guess they ran out at the factory so someone crossed that out and wrote m32 (new style). Looks they exact same just says m3w instead of m19.

Send a picture! that may be very cool

I will try to get a scan of the document and upload it, I sent a photo of it to Field Marshall already but I will get it digitally scanned for higher resolution.

Any chance to do this please? Really curious to see that pic :)

Thanks Field Marshall, I never really paid much attention to it, but I guess it sheds a little light on to when the M19's were issued vs's the M32's. I wonder why they changed to the M32?

Wish those had the m19 in them !!!!! The m38 is an improved model,, what you have is some packaging in the transition period when they were going to the new model
M38 are still a great find and bring great money,,,, ive seen them on ebay bring 1500 dollars.. the a2 model bring 200 to 400 dollars..
The 1942 m38 are getting harder to find...

The M32 looks just like the M19, same exact scope :) Don't know why the name changed. Actually they may have used M32's one some of the blasters.

They are in the M3 periscope which is really rare. The M13 is pretty common but I dont think there are any scopes in them. Atleast not M19's/ M32's

Hold on a sec. Are you telling me that the M19 is INSIDE of an M13 periscope??????????? How do I not know this?

That was a typo. I meant the M3. Thanks for the info. Now I won't walk past tank periscopes at the flea markets any more.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Especially with regards to the insides that make it functional. These are builds (part synthetic & part metal - see through but not functional.

This last one is my build opposite the MR version.

I believe you two are confusing your M32 with his M38, they are in fact different telescopes. The M32 looks similar to an M19 but the M32 is actually a little bit longer than the M19. The M38 scope is a different design and a more recent model.

I mean between an M19 and M32.

Since I have both M32 and multiple M19s, and a 1941 M19 here... I can tell you they are EXACTLY the same in every dimension externally. The only difference I see aside from the stampings are the reticles in the M32, which has drop, range, and windage markers, where the M19s only have the circle-dot-crosshair.

We all are hunting for the M19 and M38, cause that´s the numbers we know/learned - but is there really any proof that no M32 or M77 or whatever looks similar was used on the real props? :lol
