Kevin's scatter build thread

Yes I used a heat gun with doubled sided commercial tape.

Come on, you know you want to build one, come over to the dark side lol

I was studying your build on white armor. Very impressive fab work! I'm researching now, u kill me. Like I need another project. This is go addicting

I have an aluminum tube that's the perfect size waiting for you if you want. I could even drill it out for you.

I don't have the time nor the skill to make one from scratch like you did. That's pretty damn impressive
thanks dan, if I were to drill out the tube, you can get a kit and just glue everything to the tube. You would need to paint and clean the parts but it's not bad.

Here a shot of my power cylinders and counter I have been working on. I'm so close to finishing this blaster. Just a few more steps. I was trying to finish my scope rail however this task is harder than I thought. The hard part is finding the correct material. I need a 1/16x3/4 piece of steel or aluminum that would not be flimsy and bend once I attach the scope and counter to it. I'm going to try a few different places tomorrow.

The counter is a hengstler counter copy and a very good copy I may add. The only mods I made to it were removing the plastic spade terminals and making metal ones in it place. Also of course weathering it. The power cylinders are 3d printed and really close to being accurate. I had to cut out the back of the cylinders and open the triangle area and re attached the back of the metal mite capacitors. Also cut the groove above, drilled out my holes for the pass through screws and prepped for paint. Still need to add what looks like yarn under the rear capacitors

i dont know this blaster well. i thought that counter was real! super impressive to me
It's a really nice copy. I added some metal to make it stronger. The real counter goes for around 400 bucks as well as a real scope. 800 bucks, ya, NO. Copies are good enough. Lol

A real Sterling needs to be demilled, but still with all the authentic original parts, we are looking at well over 1200.

Found the missing piece for my rail. Here it is assembled. This is my test run before paint.

My power cylinders are still being worked on but I sat them on the magazine for looks.

So close!

Just needs paint! Here are a couple wip photos of my power cylinders. This is the last piece of the puzzle.

Last step is to add the wires from the counter and that's it.

FINISHED!!! Here are some completed photos. My son had to help hold it for me.

I have to give a big thankyou to the folks at the fisd. Besides a couple of parts, this is a full scratch build made from aluminum

dude your really none stop! lol. looks like fun though!

Thanks Danny. Believe it or not, this relaxes me. I get too antsy sitting around and my mind is always on tomorrow's tasks. This is like therapy for me.

I just cut the eyes and teeth out. I think that's all for tonight besides, there's a hockey game on tonight and my lightning are off to a 3 and 0 start!
