So, continuing my unfinished projects run...I present my 'Feisty little one', EV-9D9

Inspired by Zorg's build and Howlrunners excellent prop I decided she was a must have for my collection.

I couldn't find any files at all to 3d print for this girl so I modelled a base form in blender and then applied tons of Bondo/Apoxie sculpt...this mother is heavy, but in a good way

I added the lower jaw and the neck relay greeblies, although not accurate, and a chunky metal neck shaft for a display stand

Another amazing characterful droid from the OT design team

The eyes/lights look blue in the pic but it's the camera filter...they're actually warm white

Well I'd like to do a Death Star droid but face the same problem of accurate source files. Gordon Tarpley has sculpted a beaut but he's all out of raw casts.

I've started the interrogator droid so that will be next...then of course 21-B...any tips?

A few different shots

Well my first port of call with 2-1b was getting hold of a mic then you can scale everything from there.

Used chavant clay, got the smooth shape finalised then picked out the divots with a pointed wooden skewer. Used the same tool to jab the smaller dents.

Hope this helps

Hi GEEK1138
The quality and the turnaround of your creations is breath taking.
I have worked on many shows over the years and very few people have the output to match you.
congratulations

I did look through my old photos and only found one more shot of EV-9d9
It is next to its "Imperial brother", that has uses a lot of the same parts

He appeared on the bridge of a Star Destroyer in Ep' 6, but I don't remember if he was used in any other shots

This could be your next project :)
But the second photo is with his head turned around to see his face. He was lying face down.

I forgot to turn it back, then a photographer came in to take shots for the "Star Wars Technical Manual"
so that is how he look in the book with his head on backwards. :)

Great work!

Thanks Gary...I'm not sure there are enough reference pix of the 'Imperial brother' droid for me to work up into a full prop. Although I realise I've seen him in a pic I had...

I'll have to check out ROTJ to see if I can spot him...Did he even have a name

Really getting there with this build...She's got some tricky bits to do but I reckon I'm not far off

The inspiration for this droid is this pic... although this console was not the one they used in the finished movie. In fact this one is seen in the Bacta tank scene with 2-1b and FX-7

Anyhow, this is the latest.

Gonna wire up the console with a few lights and finish weathering the seat/pedestal
