Jumanji board - Movie accurate CNC

What's up ladies and gents,
This is a board I am collaborating with Audrey2 to build. He has done all the sculpting to make this happen. Before I start:

PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR FILES WE ARE NOT SHARING.

Ok got that out of the way. So I am making this bird out of walnut for a few reasons. One it's tough as hell and two, I believe once stained it's closer to the on screen stain as we can get naturally. This is were I currently am on making This board and will be cutting the other side of the lid some time this week.

I will try and keep this thread photo heavy.

So I couldn't wait I have started the top portion of the lid out of walnut also. I will have to break up the files that Audrey created to be able to properly cut and construct the board as you see in the movie.
Here is progress two hours to go!

Well bad news I had a failed cut at the end. My z axis fried I'm guessing I think I have an extra motor and I'll change it out tomorrow. Oh well things happen but this was the progress. Thank god it was a thick piece of walnut!

Yes, this should be done in WOOD. 3D printed plastic doesn't do the same job.

you have no idea how much i want this! lol i made this back in 1995 when i was 11 years old with my mom and dad.

always wanted a 1:1 version of the game board out of wood.. i envy you.

That is awesome! I love family projects especially like that it has meaning you should try to get the date you guys built it and put it on the bottom

So a buddy of mines jointed the bottom off and sides and did an excellent job! Looks great! I'm ready for the sides and going to start some more pieces as I have time.

Great work! I've wanted one of these boards since I was a wee lad, what kind of CNC are you running? Out of curiosity is the top made from two different pieces of wood or is it a single piece that has been cut?

so freak'n gorgeous... this is one of my top favorite pieces... a must have. robin williams was one of my favorite actors. jumanji is one of my all time favorites. when ever i think of robin i think of jumanji...

and every time i think of jumanji i think of how much i miss that actor... such a shame
