New alternative for Solo Blaster

I still need to make a stand to display it, but I'm pretty much done. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.

So this was done with the Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black? It looks REALLY good. Did you clear coat it afterwards or anything? I've got a regular Denix RotJ Han blaster that I'm working on, so this might be the way to go, cause it looks great.

Yes, it's the Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black. I used Outers gun oil after. It soaks it up like parkerizing. I may use some Renaissance Wax too.

Finally got around to finishing mine, to the best i could within my means.I screwed up the brass knob big time trying to add the groove in a very foolish manner, so served me right. I was however very happy with the patina I achieved on the scope.

3D printed heatsink which snapped perfectly in place, and 3D printed T track withe reade pistons added.

Glass cabochons added to the scope. Gives the illusion of optics quite nicely.

Just for giggles, the TFA bundle.

I think it looks great. I like the list pic with the TFA Sabers. Where did you get the stands and the Kylo Ren Saber?

I recently got an ANH saber to go with my DL-44.

Cheers, really wish I could of brought it up to your level! The graflex was built by "LMDcustomsabers"(with some accuracy mods i added) and the kylo ren is just a 3D printed version I painted up a while ago. The stands are mineral display stands.

Since this is an alternative thread to the traditional way of building Solo’s Blaster... here is my variant.

It’s built using a denix (highly modified) but all the other parts are of my own design printed up through shapeways. Nice thing about building it this way is you can control everything. All the weathering, screw placements (scope wheel are lined up to the original), lenses set ups (front & back).. all pretty much identical to the last known photos of the original prop.

Antenna greeblies are from Reade’s though..

Is there any chance that one of you guys who bought an AW custom blaster has grown tired of it and wants to trade me for saber kits/parts?

Let me know

the larger end of the scopes had a near perfect match in their selection, smaller end wasnt quite so neat.

It's a great idea. It got me thinking about some acrylic rod I had, so I made this for the front of the scope, but I don't have anything large enough to make a lens for the back yet. It's not glass like yours, but it's a step up from the original.

I've been making some Stembridge ROTJ grips for a commission and decided to make a new set of grips for my blaster. One set was a little too narrow for my liking, so I started on another.

Stembridge grips checkered and ready for an oil finish.

New grips for my DL-44 started. The ones on the right looked a little small.

Just ordered mine from KYairsoft, with shipping was only $220, can't wait to get started weathering and getting a different grill.
I did buy the evike E-11 when it was on sale at evike figured they'll look good on the shelf together.
