Rogue One: Diego Luna/Cassian Andor Blaster

Anyone have some clearer shots of the paint job on the left side of the gun? The angle on the stills so far have left me confused, as it appears it's not symmetrical with the right side of the blaster. Plus, I can't quite differentiate the silver from what might just be lighting.

Here's one (source):

And here's art from some figures (source 1 and source 2):

Here's some more pictures I just took of the packaging of figures and stuff:

This one looks like it's just a picture:

Thanks for those reference pics, @Toa Quarax, though sorry I should have been more specific: I meant the shooter's left side of the gun. So far, from this thread, and the internet, this is what I've found, but would love something a little more definitive:

Oh, yeah, we really don't have much of that side. I also took some more pictures of displays with that first picture on it:

IMG_6547.JPGIMG_6557.JPGIMG_6559.JPGIMG_6560.JPGIMG_6690.JPGIMG_6691.JPG

Here's another shot of it from the packaging of a figure set:

And we do get a glimpse of it at 7:04 in this video, but it's out of focus:

It looks to me like the 6″ The Black Series figure in that second picture got it right. Here's some more pictures of the figure (source):

Whoever built his rifle/ pistol must be a fan of real firearms, and using their parts. The flashlight on the rifle fore end looks to be a Surefire X300. An older model, that has a flat bezel on the front, but it matches the looks perfectly. Should be easy to find a chinese knock off/ Airsoft version to paint up and save some cost.

I also really like the idea of modularity. I can certainly understand why they would pick an m4 style rifle for his build. Can't wait to see it in the film!

Based on the shape of the head, I think its a X-200A . I have a real one floating around here if anyone needs a pic .

Eh, given the use of Element's Surefire M300 knockoff on Imperial weapons, the Rebel flashlight is probably just a knockoff X300, like this.

Some great shots of Diego Luna showing off Cassian's blaster on this week's The Star Wars Show.

Oh, so it's modular? The pistol converts into an assault/sniper rifle with add-ons? (Update: Ah, just watched the video showing the add-ons. Nice!)

And of course, all the right-hand side of the gun again...!

EDIT: Okay, there were clearly a few different paints on this gun during the production.

This is a screen grab from the video that I didn't see posted yet. This is the front part of Cassian's blaster showing how the hand blaster connects to the Rifle extension.

Here is my current project using actual AR-15 parts (I am a novice gunsmith).
I still need a couple parts to complete it with a few parts and greeblies. I will make a video tutorial when I am done.

I discovered these when I was looking into doing a replica of Will Smith's rifle from "I Am Legend".
You can buy almost finished AR lower receivers without a background check and over the internet without any issues at all - even ship to California or New York City. Since they are not finished they are considered just a block of aluminum and not a gun. But from the outside they look (and actually are) very realistic and they are made from aluminum - and they are cheap! Just Google 80% Lower Receiver. The uppers are even easier to buy and can be bought by anyone. You can also buy the parts that hold the magazine in, etc. online too.

Even better, you can get these in polymer too! You will have to be careful which parts you cut into it because it is currently only considered 80% completed and additional work that could bring it above 81% might be illegal in your area.

Scanned Images of Cassian's Blaster from The Rogue One Ultimate Visual Guide.

These are NOT Cassian's Blaster, but they are similar. Cassian uses an A-280 CFE. These are of an A-300. Also scanned from the Ultimate Visual Guide.

Does anyone know the difference between the assault rifle version and the sniper version? Is the one in this picture a modular one as well?

I got the photo from the official trailer

Also if look at that picture above me about Corporal Rostok I think they got the power cell and the stock mixed up lol

The A280 CFE (covert Field Edition) is the only version that is modular. The one in your photo is the A300 and is not modular.
The props are constructed with the same parts. The sniper rifle version comes with a heat shroud for rapid fire.

That is great. Didn't even notice that about the power housing and stock in the photo.

For Cassian's, judging by the video. The assault rifle version has the shorter barrel. The sniper version he pulls out the barrel a little further.
So the longer barrel blasters are the sniper rifles.

That all said, I am not sure why you need air cool for rapid shooting on a sniper rifle. That sounds more like an assault rifle option to me.

It starts out with the short barreled Assault mode. Then he extends the barrel a little for the Sniper mode.
