Hey there

Thought I would post up some progress on a Crossbones build I am working on.

Here are photos of my scratch build of the most critical prop in terms of selling the costume. The Power Gauntlets

They are constructed of
• PVC Pipe for the main sleeve part and tube elements
• 3mm Sintra board
• 1mm and 3mm craft foam
• wooden dowels and polyethylene tubes for the pistons
• various sizes of metal washers
• nuts and bolts to secure the pistons.

I'm in the process of painting now. I'll post some completed images soon

here are some amazon purchases
to add to what I got on the junkyard

shell holder.jpg
Shotgun shell holders for the left arm

molle vest.jpg
Molle Vest to go over the tactical armor vest

arm drops.jpg
These are molle leg drops that I will use on the upper arms to hold all the mags and various greebies

mag holder.jpg
Mag holder for the center of the vest.
I have made three Glock mag replicas from 3mm sintra I'll post later.
I had to cut and shorten them by 30% to look accurate.

All of the painting was done with only two paints a small bottle of silver and a small bottle of Black Gloss Liquitex latex paints.

• The base coat is a blend of the two to make a medium gray.
• Then I did various washes of darker grays and blacks and dabbed off with a paper towel.
• Lastly I took a very fine brush and highlighted the edges with straight silver to simulate raw metal where the paint has scratched off
