Bandai 1/72 PG Millennium Falcon (also the Revell Germany rebox)

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

Chris, you should probably watermark those images. People are gonna mistake it for the real deal. Lol!

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

Mine's been finished for a little while now, but my local Hobbytown had a model contest yesterday afternoon so I figured I'd lug it up there and enter.
I got 2nd place! :) The winner was a big 1:350 TOS U.S.S. Enterprise that had some really cool custom lighting. Trekkies, right??? LOL

I think this is the best engineered mass-produced model that I've ever worked on. I love getting to look at it every day!

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

Quick question for all of the falcon pros...
In my excitement I made the mistake of forgetting to liquid mask the chipping on my greatly panels...is there a surefire way to chip after the paint has dried?

Paint the chipping on with base color.

Draw them on with water color pencils.

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

I chip away with an exacto knife. I also use the vase color paint applied with a,small brush.

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

I have finished assembly. I am wondering how people or what method works best to start bending/deforming some of the end panels. Anyone made a little video?

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

I've found that a soldering iron tip hovered over the area works well, just be very careful not to over-do it :thumbsup

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

it sure how significant or if this is the BEST place, but i just got the Solo falcon HotWheels, and it does not have the “new” landing gear boxes on the front! it’s is JUST hotwheels, but that’s gotta count for SOMETHING, no??

Well, Mr. CKING,
if I understand it the right way, master "stevetheswede" paint your edition oft he perfect grade falcon?
However- you should give those painting examples an own thread.
There are soooo brilliant. And in the moment they are „hidden“ inside this flood of informations and pictures.

Re: Bandai 1/72 Millennium Falcon

Well, for myself...I'm more than annoyed that Disney screwed with the Falcon's appearance. I'm an ESB guy, so I get it, it's a prequel and there's no twin forward landing gear, I can live with that, BUT this BS with the forward section and the mandibles, brings to mind the words of David Lopan..."now this really piZZes me off to no end". I've got a book on these, and I don't believe Corellian Corp had any 1300's come like this one, if I'm wrong on this, I apologize. But YUCK, I don't care for it. They'd better have a good explanation of the time line of the Falcon's transition in appearance. Unless of course one of you guys already knows the story on this, please share it and straighten me out :facepalm
