Westworld (HBO)

The only real problem I had with it was having to constantly sit through the Groundhog Day stuff over and over and over. Yeah, I get it, they do the same story over and over, but I don't need to see it over and over. Show it to me once, maybe twice. Okay, I got it. I don't need to see it a hundred times.

Two more days before I have to start pausing the midnight showing of “Westworld” so I can watch it the night it premieres without my wife knowing I’ve watched it, all while the 9pm showing doesn’t show as “Watched” on the DVR.

Then, the next day, I will watch the one recorded on the DVR with her, as if I’ve never seen it before, so that she doesn’t get mad that I watched it without her.

She’s always like “Did you watch already?”
I’m like “That doesn’t look like anything to me.”

I can’t wait!!!

I used to have to play that same game with my ex, damn frustrating at times. I also cant wait.

Strong start! This show still gives me that special feeling :)

I feel you...

I tried watching a couple of other shows that I watch regularly, and they just weren't up to par tonight. I know it's not because their quality was any lower, it's just that "Westworld" is that much stronger of a show for me.

One thing I liked is they got something out of the way pretty early...there had been lots of wondering out there on the web about where, exactly, the park is located. They made it pretty clear that it's near an ocean right off the bat, with the way the security guys were showing up on boats...and then they didn't even beat around the bush referring to the area as an island. So while we may not know where exactly that island is, we at least now know that the park is on some giant island somewhere. I like how they answered that without actually giving away and precise geographic coordinates, and not even a mention of a country that it's located in.

Keep in mind that Ford said the entire park was designed, down to "every blade of grass." Doesn't necessarily mean it's an island. Or, that it's above ground...

I JUST finished watching the Season 1. LOVED IT! I was surprised at the ending. I dont have HBO so I have to wait to binge watch after the season end. GRRRRR

I've still got Lost In Space and Altered Carbon to get thru. I think I may wait until this season is over so I can binge watch it.

The guy from Delos LITERALLY said:
”See this? It’s an official statement executed by your government giving Delos complete control over this island.”

Then said:
”Have then sign an NDA and escort them off my ******* island.”

So yeah, it’s an island man.

And the guy he showed it to was Asian. So, island off the coast of Asia from all appearances.

Apparently the coordinates that Maeve has were subtitles in the Finnish version of the show as lat-lon figures that shows it at 9 degrees 55 minutes north, 115 degrees 32 minutes east.

That puts it directly on a manmade island called Mischief Reef, which is part of the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.

If it's part of the Spratly Islands, then we have to expect that Delos expanded it greatly, because those are a bunch of tiny islands that China recently militarized.

None of those islands are anywhere near large enough to house the expansive parks in Westworld.

Exactly, but it’s a far more plausible idea than the park being in some giant underwater bio dome.

Yes, I agree. And it fits the theme of the show better too.

A cool BTS clip about the new drone hosts.
