Westworld (HBO)

Re: HBO gives us a "Westworld" remake as a series!

they rented out "Deadwood" for two years, also where Django Unchained and many many other westerns and tv series were filmed. There is an actual fully functional steam train set up while they also modified and added onto the existing sets. They literally moved houses to scale out the sets. Its an incredibly massive set for a series.

I'll give it a shot, but have to say I'm skeptical.

Jerry Weintraub will be schooling those idiots into HOW IT IS DONE!

Pay attention JJ, Robert, et al!

Keep your mouths shut watch listen and learn from the Master!!

is the original worth watching?

Yul Brynner was the template Terminator before Arnie. Bald, emotionless, dressed in black denim, seemingly unstoppable once he got you into his crosshair.

EDIT: Hah! Bald Terminator. "Crosshair" ...

The original TV show is terrible, i'd stick with the movies. Yul Brynner was terrifying when I first saw this movie as a kid, it was also when i realized how much time my folks spend watching scifi movies while dating lol, and then you turn to "The King and I" and he's suddenly singing lol

Looks like the dvd is pretty cheap on eBay so I'll go ahead and pick it up!

I just learned about the original movie earlier this year and loved every bit of it. I seen today it is getting a series with some surprisingly big names attached to it so I'm super excited.

Still need to track down Futureworld and the old short lived TV series.

Remember this was written by Michael Crichton, showing that the more complex a system the more likely it is to break down, laying the groundwork for Jurassic Park.
