That is a NICE find: does everyone also already know that the greeblie at the bottom of that sidewall piece is the Airfix/MPC 1/24 Hurricane (retractable) boarding ladder, part #216. I'm assuming so, but it was news to me thanks to your find.

I knew the part from the kit but didn't know what it did. Interesting, I never really considered the function of the parts in real life.

Awesome find -- well done! Always amazing to me how often "boredom" is the basis for creativity. I've found "most" of the things I've found while looking for something else.
