The question while regarding and observing all These Pictures there is an important question left:
where did you get all those parts from. For example the " Wankel-part" inside the sidewalls? Are they taken from real kits?

The detail is amazing. Even in its unfinished state it's fantastic.

After a hiatus of a few months from this project (yet again) I've found time to work on new aspects.
The belly plating is going well and is far simpler than the dorsal pattern, plus I have the technique down to a fine art at this point.
I've also designed and then this evening machined the cockpit interior base from Delrin- the plan is to detail it as necessary and mould it for future use, or potential production (it fits perfectly into the MPC cockpit)
While I turned the main shape on my lathe, the rest of it was done carefully by hand. You can see my technique for maintaining crisp(ish) edges by clamping abrasive paper to a block of steel on one side only.

I know Bandai have their model and it's great and all but watching handcrafted work progress at this level is just the biz!

This evening I built the cockpit console- when I applied the photo-etch parts I had to wear a dust mask to make sure I didn't blow them away!
Obviously it's not dead accurate, but it's a good enough approximation.

Strange to think the last time I worked on the Falcon was 4 months ago, and even stranger to think that I've passed the 3 year mark on this project.
After successfully moulding the cockpit console, I opted to use the original master for my own build- it's been a long time since I painted such fine details, but it was very enjoyable. Takes me back to being a 12 year old painting Warhammer figures.
Also here are some B&W beauty shots of the build as it stands so far, just to spice up this dormant thread.

It's quite impressive! Your own personal PG Falcon. The details are simply amazing
Now if you could kindly start building a 1/72 Tie Bomber because then Bandai can finally announce their's
I actually did start modifying a Bandai TIE Advanced into a Bomber....Now that you've reminded me, I want to get back on it !
