Graflex 2.0 Sabers - Show your work / Talk Electronics

0.875" Outer Diameter

messaged a friend who makes Aluminum Fett parts to see if he'd be able to make the heat sink since the saber shop on etsy stopped...anyone have measurements for the heatsink?

Here's my parts list
Wannawanga:
TFA Clamp Card ($10)
Kobold ($15)

TCSS:
Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 2600mAh ($13)
28mm Bass Speaker ($5)
Heat sink ($10-15)
Power Jack ($2.75)

Amazon:
28 AWG gauge Stranded Hook Up WIre Kit ($20)

Shapeways:
Graflex2.0 - Knight Chassis Part 1 - Main shell ($50)
Graflex2.0 - Knight Chassis Part 2 - Prizm ($30)

Naigon:
Spark Color 2 ($116)

One thing I don't have settled on is the AUX switch - I'm thinking I'll use the graflex clamp solution that we've seen here for the Obi Wan reveal chassis. I really like the solution on the VV 1" blade holder, but that's another $80 to spend if I go that route. Although the VV holder does offer the chance to use the blue day blades they make as well, so there's arguments in both directions.

So you're going with the Crystal reveal... Where'd you plan on getting your Crystal?

I just bought a bunch of quartz to see what it they send....if I get a few pieces Id send for postage plus a few bucks to recoop the $$ i spent to get the lot of them...I wont be in the US (at home) for another month though

and those Day blades do have me wanting to go that route...since the wife will want to use this outdoors Im sure. Nothing photoshop cant fix though... :)

I finally got around last night to putting together my parts list. My saber came over the weekend, so a few little shipments coming in and I'll be ready to get it all together. Here's what I'm going with for now.

Graflex 2.0 (Korbanth)
Graflex 2.0 - Padawan Chassis (DarthRyo/Shapeways)
NonBiscotte v3 (PlecterLabs)
Custom Tri-Cree LED [Royal Blue / Blue / White] (TCSS)
1ohm 2w resistor x4 (TCSS)
Star thermal tape pad (TCSS)
18deg Tri-Rebel/Cree Star Lens (TCSS)
7/8" Aluminum heat Sinks for Tri Led (Saberbay)
Premium 28mm Speaker (TCSS)
Bass Speaker 28mm (eBay)
Stainless Steel 4-40 all thread rods (TCSS)
Stainless Steel 4-40 Hex nut (TCSS)
Panasonic Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 3400mAh Battery (TCSS)
Switchcraft 2.1mm Power Jack (TCSS)
Edge Connector (WannaWanga)
Saberforge Blade Plug (not sure it fits now)

Hardware
28AWG wire
solder iron
4-40 Tap & drill set

Misc-
Acrylic Crystals (TCSS)
Quartz crystals (eBay)
Stainless steel tube (eBay)

I picked up a few extras in case of mistakes or I change my mind as I go.

I haven't really tried fitting parts but I had a question. When you put the heat sink into the grenade part, is that just a pressure fit or is there something that holds it?
Anything special you're using to clean or polish the aluminum, mine has a bit of discoloration from where the handle was covered by the clamp.

Following Darth Ryo's instructions, you'll want to drill a hole for the heatsink and tap for a set screw. I'm considering a way to mount it to the top of my crystal chamber though, I like the idea of everything being connected.

************* Resistor help **************

Battery - Panasonic Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 3400mAh
LED = Tri Cree Xpe2 (BBW)
Info for the Blues -
Illumination Color:Blue
If - ForwardCurrent: 1000 mA (Etsy listing says 350mA, Justin confirmed 350mA is not the max you can drive them, 350mA is what the Lumens listed are rated at. He said run them at 1000ma)
Vf - ForwardVoltage: 3.1 V
Power Rating: 3 W

Remember there are 2 blues and the white is for FOC.

This is what the online calc gets me for each one. -

When I run those numbers telling it I have 2 LEDs it gives me an error.

Someone please confirm what resistor/resistors I should be using.

Thank you!
