Prop cleaning and maintenance

Any advice on cleaning or preserving props without damage? Plastic or wood materials should be easy to clean but resin or other type of materials are more difficult. I have most props in display cases but some not. Do you clean or wash props?

I don't recommend cleaning or washing them as I'd hate to devalue them (even if the value is purely sentimental); I personally cover mine to prevent dust from accumulating, whether it be by glass/acrylic display cases, garment bags, or just zip lock bags, and hope for the best.
